Found a bug? In the app, go to Settings, then Report a problem. You can attach screenshots, and we'll reply in the app.
Report a member
Open their profile or your chat with them and choose Report. You can block them at the same time. Reports are confidential.
Email us
For anything else, write to thecounseldating@gmail.com. Use the email address on your account so we can find it.
Common questions
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings, then Manage account, then Delete account. If you can't sign in, use our account deletion page.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Cancel in the app under Settings, then Account, then Subscription, or through your App Store or Google Play account. Your refund and cancellation rights are in our Terms of Service and the Dating Service Consumer Bill of Rights.
Can I pause my membership?
Yes. Paid members can put their membership on hold. While it's on hold, your profile is hidden from others and your paid time is saved for when you come back.
What do the verification badges mean?
Selfie Checked, ID Details Matched and Booking Checked each mean a member completed an optional check. They don't guarantee who someone is. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what each check does.
Do you run background checks?
No. The Counsel does not conduct criminal background screenings of its members. Please read our safety policy before meeting anyone.
How do I opt out of ad sharing or manage my privacy?
In the app, go to Settings, then Privacy & Safety. You can also use our Your Privacy Choices page.
Is Atlas a separate app?
No. Atlas is part of The Counsel app, with its own travel profile. You can use dating, Atlas, or both.
Someone tried to scam me. What should I do?
Stop replying, don't send money, and report them in the app. Our scam safety guide lists the warning signs.
